Since moving to the Cities, we’ve really enjoyed breweries for their atmosphere and trying Minneapolis and St. Paul brewed craft beer. They’re great for hanging out with friends for a chill night or the perfect spot for a little date night. Matt is more of a fruity, IPA guy and I would 9 times out of 10 go for the darkest beer they have, so we have a wide spectrum of taste.
If you love breweries, we would totally recommend Craftapped! It’s an app one of our friends from church told us about and you can get 10 craft beer credits every month that you can redeem at lots of breweries around Twin Cities. Groupon typically has a coupon to get the app for $60 for a year, which is awesome! Craft beer is usually $6 per glass, so even if you only go to 10 breweries the whole year, it’s already paid for itself.
Here are some of our favorite breweries around Minneapolis and St. Paul:
Pryes Brewing Company
This brewery is located in the North Loop in Minneapolis and it’s such a cool spot. Their branding is on point and Matt and I both loved the Main Squeeze, which is a perfect summer beer. They also have food and a great spot to sit outside or play games.

3rd Act
If you’re ever on the east side of the metro, this is one of our favorites. It’s in Woodbury and opened pretty recently. They have really good pizza, there’s tons of seating, and there is also great seating outside and yard games as well. We’ve gotten the “I Double Dog Dare Ya” and the “I’m Never Leaving This Place” and likes them both a lot.

Surly
We love this place! It’s not on the app, probably since it’s so popular, but it’s still such a fun spot to play games with friends, hang out in the winter, or grab a pizza and eat on the balcony in the summer. I love the Coffee Bender and Matt typically tries a different one each time.

Big Wood Brewery
We love White Bear Lake and this brewery is such an awesome place! It has a cabin feel and totally a Minnesota place. Plus, it’s located in the downtown area of White Bear Lake, which is really fun to walk around. And soon to be our new home! Stay tuned for more on that 🙂
