It’s been an awesome two years in the Twin Cities since Matt and I moved up here after we graduated from college and got married! We’ve been living in an apartment that has been a great place for us and we’ve made so many fun memories in our sweet first place. It’s been a cool adventure to start our married life in a new place and begin to call this area home together.
And now…we’re buying a house! We’ve been saving up, exploring different areas to see where we’d like to live long term, and looking at houses online. It wasn’t until early this summer that we started to seriously look for a house. We met with our realtor and went to some showings, not really expecting to find anything until the fall.
Then in June, our realtor emailed us about a house that wasn’t even on the market with a lot of aspects we were looking for. Even though we hadn’t seen any pictures or didn’t know much about it prior to looking at it, we were still willing to check it out. And we’re definitely glad we did, because it had so much of what we were looking for!
It’s in White Bear Lake, which is one of our favorite places! We’ve gone on many dates to this lake town to walk around, hit up the brewery, and check out the local stores. It’s also a great spot for both of our commutes to work and is near a nature park with trails and lots of trees.
The house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the main floor, plus a bathroom and bedroom in the basement, which will be plenty of space for us to grow into. Our favorite aspect is the living room, which has vaulted ceilings, skylights, a fireplace, and wood floors. Right off the living room is a sunroom, which will become my office!
We close at the end of July and then will spend August doing some projects like scrapping the popcorn ceilings and painting cabinetry. Then we’ll say goodbye to our apartment and move into our new home at the end of the summer! Can’t wait to take you along for the ride!
Love this! Can’t wait to see more!
