Lately, I’ve been realizing how important having a morning routine is in my life and how it can positively impact my whole day! Today, I’ll be sharing some of my tips on creating a morning routine and sticking with it.
Getting to bed at a consistent time has really helped me wake up at a consistent time and allows me to wake up to my alarm in the morning and start my day out well. Since I started plugging my phone in across the room, I no longer wake up and just check social media for 10 minutes before rolling out of bed and rushing to get ready. I wake up feeling rejuvenated and get out of bed right away.
One of the first things I like to do in the morning is drink a glass of water while I tidy up from the night before, like empty the dishwasher or fold blankets. After that, I make my bed and change into my workout clothes. Just these simple actions have been a game-changer in getting my day off to a good start, while making my whole day feel more productive.
Here’s what is part of my morning routine:
- Reading the Word
- Read a Couple Pages of a Book
- Journal
- Sip a Good Cup o’ Joe
- Workout
- Make a Green Smoothie
I’m doing the She Reads Truth Bible in a Year plan, and it’s been so good to have a plan. It helps me stay consistent and I learn so much. After I read the Word, I have been reading a chapter of a personal development book to get my mind going for the day. Right now, I’m reading The Slight Edge and it’s awesome! Then, I write down 3 things I’m thankful for and some prayers or thoughts in my journal while sipping some coffee.
Once I’m done reading, I’ll head up to the workout room in our apartment and get my sweat on. Even though all through high school and college, I worked out in the afternoon, I really do love getting it done in the morning. Some days, I’ll run and other days I do a workout video since it’s nice to switch it up. Finally, I’ll make a smoothie with protein, spinach, a frozen banana, some milk, and powdered peanut butter for a yummy and quick breakfast.
